PTA Executive Board Positions

Bamber Valley PTA Executive Board

  • Hold Executive Board Meetings during the school year, monthly or when needed
  • Attend Bi-monthly General Membership meetings
  • Meetings usually run an hour long

 

Bamber Valley PTA President Duties:

  • Create events calendar for the year in cooperation and per the approval of the Principal.
  • Create list of leads for year.
  • Gather a group for stuffing folders at end of summer before school starts.
  • Meet/communicate with Principal about 5 times/year (more or less, depending on preference).
  • Create agenda for Board meetings (bi-monthly).
  • Create agenda for PTA Membership meetings (bi-monthly).
  • Facilitate meetings – both Board and Membership.
  • Attend Monthly RAC (Rochester Area Council) meetings, if possible.  Other board members may also attend instead.
  • Assist with bi-monthly newsletter contributions; edit.
  • Send Peachjar communications occasionally (or ask office staff for assistance).
  • Touch base periodically with Leads.
  • Read and respond to PTA emails in BV PTA email account.

     

    Bamber Valley PTA Vice President Duties:

  • Act as an aid to the president.
  • Be prepared to perform the duties of the president in the absence of that officer to serve.
  • Maintain an up-to-date membership list.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

     

    Bamber Valley PTA Secretary Duties:

  • Record minutes at bi-monthly Board Meetings and General Membership Meetings.
  • Update the Bamber Valley PTA website.
  • Assist with sending emails from the BV PTA email account to Membership, Homeroom parents, etc...
  • Perform other duties as needed.

     

    Bamber Valley PTA Treasurer Duties:

  • Prepare treasurer reports for bi-monthly PTA Board and General Meetings, be available to answer questions about the budget via email and at PTA meetings.
  • Check PTA box regularly (weekly if possible) for reimbursement requests; maintain listing of teachers fulfilled requests for teacher support and enrichment funds.
  • Maintain PTA checkbook and debit card and submit payments for PTA sponsored activities.
  • Obtain starter cash for and deposit money from PTA sponsored activities (spiritwear sales, planners and membership, book fair, carnival).
  • Prepare taxes annually.
